On the occasion of the release of Espen Gleditsch's new book titled Nostalgia, MELK will host a booklaunch and artist talk with Gleditsch and Tone Lyngstad Nyaas (art historian and curator at Haugar Vestfold Artmuseum).

In the book Nostalgia Espen Gleditsch investigates how we perceive, interpret and communicate optical phenomena, geography and history. Through photography and text-works, the book begins with a historical mirage seen in 1818, a phenomenon at the interface between subjective experience and objective facts.

Espen Gleditsch (b. 1983, Tønsberg) has studied at FAMU in Prague and Fatamorgana in Copenhagen.
