Jon Gorospe. (Spain, 1986)
Gorospe holds a B.A. degree from the SCHOOL OF ARTS ID·Arte, Basque Country (Spain) and the VILNIUS FACULTY OF ARTS (Lithuania).
Gorospe has been recognized by several public and private institutions, such as the Guggenheim Museum, Sasakawa Foundation (Japan-Scandinavia), Futures Photography (Europe Creative Programme) and Ankaria Foundation (Spain).
He has been widely exhibited in several countries and institutions such as the Kunstnernes Hus and Fotogalleriet in Norway; The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Sala Amárica, Canal de Isabel II, Círculo de Bellas Artes in Spain; the Nogeira Da Silva Museum in Portugal; the Mattatoio Museum or 28Piazza Di Pietra Gallery in Italy; Le Centquatre in Paris, France; Kiel Kunsthall in Germany; the OFF Bratislava in Slovakia; The Sochi Festival in Russia or the SIPF of Singapore.
His work focuses on new approaches to the idea of the anthropized landscape, developing several bodies of work such as The Spot (2018-2022), Polished Cities (2018-2021), City Drifters (2019-2021), Noraezean (2020), Metropolis (2018-2019) or Environments (2014-2016), etc.
He combines his work as a creator with the study and understanding of the image from a theoretical point of view. Collaborating in different projects as a curator and photo-editor, directing photography festivals and participating in panel debates and publications."
